Gordon Klingenschmitt: Mecca Crane Collapse Was the Result of Muslims “Praying to Satan”

Colorado State Rep. Gordon Klingenschmitt, who doubles as the host of his own paranoia-fueled “Pray In Jesus Name” talk show, explained on today’s episode that the crane collapse in Mecca earlier this morning was simply the result of Muslims “praying to Satan.”

There are two different Gods. There is a true God, Jehovah, the father of Jesus Christ, and there is a false god, Allah, who is the father of the false prophet Muhammad. Now which one were they praying to when an “act of God” dumped this crane on their heads and killed 107 people? I think they were praying to a false god…

You could either say Allah wanted to kill them, or you could say this is the consequence of their sin when they were really praying to Satan…

… Boy, these people really have a hard time discerning which God they should be praying to.

Klingenschmitt gave lip service to the idea this might have been an accident (which it was)… before quickly returning to his conclusion that it happened because they belong to the wrong religion.

Maybe someone should let him know that Christians have died in tragedies, too.

I’m afraid to hear what Klingenschmitt will say about today’s stampede…

For Certain Christians, Lying for Jesus is Justified in the Abortion Wars

Leviticus 19:11 makes clear: "Ye shall not steal, neither deal falsely, neither lie one to another."There's quite a bit of the Bible that conservative Christian activists tend to leave out, but Biblical prohibitions against lying are routinely given short shrift by those intent on seeing God's will done on Earth. We don't have to look far for examples of it -- from Christians arguing that LGBT people are predators to politicians pretending that being gay is a choice, these lies are common. The Washington Post has a good look at another popular outlet for faith-based lying: the abortion debate, and the notoriously deceptive idea of "crisis pregnancy centers." Reporter Petula Dvorak examines the work of one Virginia activist, Pat Lohman, in particular.shutterstock_296153609
